Hey, contractors and business owners! I’ve got a quick question for you—are you even sure your website is telling people what you do? Or is it just confusing the hell out of them and driving them to the “Back” button faster than a toddler running away from broccoli?
See, here’s the problem: most business websites are like a bad first date. They show up looking unprepared, ramble on about stuff nobody cares about, and, worst of all, leave you wondering, “Wait, what the hell just happened?” But unlike a bad date, if your website screws up, you don’t get a second chance. Your customers are gone. And guess what? They’re not coming back.
In the wild world of web design, the one golden rule is that you have 5 to 10 seconds—and that’s being generous—to grab a visitor’s attention before they bail. If your site can’t communicate clearly and fast, you might as well throw your money into a bonfire.
I’m talking about answering three basic questions every visitor asks subconsciously the moment they land on your site:
If your site doesn’t answer these three questions, then you’re just another random website floating around, waiting to be forgotten.
Want to see what a good website looks like? It’s simple. Answer those three questions immediately. Let’s break it down:
“What’s this website about?” Boom, as soon as they land on your page, tell them exactly who you are and what you do. Example: “Asphalt Paving in Prescott Valley, Arizona.” No mystery, no guessing. Done.
“What’s in it for me?” Spell out why you’re awesome. What makes your services the right fit? Are you faster, cheaper, more reliable? Say it!
“How do I get it?” Make your contact info stupidly obvious. You want their business? Show them how to get in touch. Big buttons, simple forms, a phone number they don’t need a magnifying glass to find.
It’s not rocket science, people. Google rewards clarity. When someone searches for “Tree services in San Luis Obispo,” they’re not looking for a poetic manifesto on tree care—they want to find a tree service company in San Luis Obispo. So, when you make it clear that you are that company, Google rewards you with higher rankings, which means more leads, more exposure, and more money in your pocket.
At the end of the day, if your website is still confusing the crap out of your potential customers, you’re doing it wrong. You don’t need some overpriced design or fancy features. You just need a site that tells people what you do, where you do it, and how they can get it—fast.
So, is your website making it crystal clear what you offer and where you offer it? Or is it scaring people off like a bad horror movie? Go look at your site right now and ask yourself those three questions. If it doesn’t pass the test, it’s time for a redesign.
And if you need help, well… you know where to find me.

That’s why mastering online marketing for asphalt paving contractors is crucial.
When a customer types something like “asphalt paving near me” or “driveway paving company near me” into Google, they’re actively searching for a solution to a problem.
They’re fed up with the dust from their dirt driveways or tired of the potholes on their road. It might also be the owner of a large shopping plaza looking for a great paving company to tear out and replace an entire parking lot!
The bottom line, is they are people actively looking for a paving contractor or company.
And if your business doesn’t pop up in those search results, you’re missing out on a golden opportunity.
